- 1kg of chicken pieces
- 250ml water
- 2tbls Elfreds Black Sauce and/or Soy Sauce
- 200g plain flour
- 1pkt ELFREDS SOUTHERN FRIED CHICKEN
- Oil for frying
- Large clear plastic bag
Mix 1 packet of ELFRED'S SOUTHERN FRIED CHICKEN with the flour and place in a clean dry plastic bag. In a shallow bowl mix water and Elfreds Black Sauce and/or soy sauce.
1 or 2 at a time dip the chicken bits into the water mix, let the excess drain off then shake in the flour. Shake off the excess flour and fry in hot oil.
If you desire a more crunchy batter repeat the water and seasoned flour procedure again before frying.
They will take about 25 to 30 minutes to fry. For a crunchy finish but a juicy piece of chicken – after frying the chicken for 10 min in the hot oil place the chicken on a wire cooling rack over a baking tray in the oven on a moderate heat and bake for 20 – 30 min depending on the size of the chicken pieces.
